3-Cooperstown slams 2-Sandy Creek in the S3 Class-C Softball Semis. Dani Seamon tallies 3 hits, 3 RBIs and also fires in 9 Ks in the Coop win. Katie Crippen and Tori France score 2 runs each. CCS will face 8-Port Byron in the S3 title game on 5/31.
2-Windsor clips 1-Chenango Valley to win the Section IV Class-B Softball championship. It’s the 11th sectional title in program history for the Black Knights.
1-Deposit-Hancock defeats 2-Southern Cayuga to win the S4 Class-D Softball championship. Back-to-back titles in D now for D-H. 3rd straight overall (C title in 2021). Deposit has now won 9 S4 titles in a row counting solo and combined titles.
3-Cooperstown clips 6-Thousand Islands in 9 innings in the S3 Class-C Softball Tournament. Coop advances to the semis on Saturday against 2-Sandy Creek. Savannah Kirkby is the hero with a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th for CCS. Dani Seamon rips in 17 Ks.
4-Greene falls to 1-Thomas Edison in the S4 Class-C Softball Semis. TAE will battle 2-Elmira Notre Dame in the title game on Saturday. Payton Yahner (Greene) vs Gabby Milazzo (Edison) was a great battle in the circle today. The MAC champs had a heck of a season.
2-Southern Cayuga defeats 11-Roxbury to move on to the S4 Class-D Softball championship game. The Chiefs will face top-seed Deposit-Hancock on Saturday in Horseheads. The Rockets finish their season at 9-7.
1-Deposit-Hancock tops 5-Edmeston/Morris to advance to the S4 Class-D Softball title game. Addison Makowski tosses a 3-hitter with 13 Ks. Olivia Johnston drives in 4 RBIs. Kaitlyn Macumber and Pagan Macumber both crack 3 hits each. Hannah Wist sends in 3 RBIs for E/M on 1 HR.
7-B-G falls to 2-Elmira Notre Dame in the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament. Alessandra Cafasso and Tori Suda collect 1 hit each for the Bobcats.
3-Cooperstown blanks 14-Sauquoit Valley in the S3 Class-C Softball Tournament. Dani Seamon throws a 2-hitter with 13 Ks. She also adds 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Katie Crippen totals 3 hits, 3 runs and 2 RBIs. Sophia Hotaling nails 1 double. Jeana Geertgens scores 2 runs.
11-Roxbury stuns 3-Laurens/Milford in the S4 Class-D Softball Tournament. Mikayla Wright earns the pitching win along with nailing 2 hits at the plate. Ryleigh Goodchild and MacKenzie Hynes pop off 2 hits each. Bella Garlick smashes a HR for L/M. Kara Mertz finishes with 2 hits.
2-Windsor downs 7-Lansing at home in the S4 Class-B Softball Tournament. Danica Ball and Lex Durdon combine for 11 Ks in a 4-hitter. Danica, Lex and Paige Smith account for 10 runs for the Knights. WHS gets 3-Sus Valley in the semis.
6-Sidney falls to 3-Union Springs in the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament. Ava Cirigliano fires in 8 Ks on the day and also finishes with 2 hits (1 double) and scores 1 run. Bella West goes 1-for-2 on the day. SCS had a 1-0 edge in the 4th but couldn’t hold.
4-Greene takes down 5-Tioga in the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament. Payton Yahner fires in 16 Ks in the circle. She also goes 3-for-3 with 2 triples, 2 runs and 1 RBI. Abby Yahner adds 2 RBIs. Kenzie Button, Audra Doll, Claire Flanagan and Rhea Malmquist all crack key hits.
5-Edmeston/Morris tops 4-Charlotte Valley in the S4 Class-D Softball Tournament. Carissa Richards is the hero with a grand slam in the 7th to push E/M to the win. Hannah Wist rips in 10 Ks in a 3-hitter. Brinlee Wright cracks 2 hits for CV and also finishes with 12 Ks on the rubber.
1-Deposit-Hancock blanks 8-Marathon in the S4 Class-D Softball Tournament. Kaitlyn Macumber burns in 16 Ks and earns a no-hitter for the Eagles. She also belts 2 HRs and cashes in 4 RBIs. Pagan Macumber nails 4 hits and Addison Makowski cracks a triple. 19 team hits for D-H.
