A lot of people have been asking, so I wanted to share some news.
Before anyone panics, let me be clear: I’m leaving WCDO, but I’m not leaving the games, the stories, or the area that has supported me throughout my career. If anything, this move will allow me to do even more.
Since joining WCDO in 2014, I have been very fortunate to cover sports in my hometown area and work for a truly live and local radio station. I will always be thankful to General Manager Craig Stevens for taking a chance on me and giving me the freedom to grow, try new ideas, and evolve over the years. He has been a tremendous mentor, and I am grateful for everything he has done for me.
Thank you as well to the entire WCDO staff for your friendship, encouragement, and plenty of laughs along the way.
WCDO has been a tremendous part of my life and career, and I will always be grateful for the opportunities I was given there.
Over the last several years, what started as a few side projects has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. Thanks to your incredible support, those efforts have continued to expand and create opportunities I never expected.
Eventually, there comes a point where you realize it is time to take the next step. As exciting as that is, it is also a little scary. But I believe this is the right time to fully commit to what I have built and see just how far it can go. This is not about leaving something behind. It is about investing in what I have spent years creating. My podcast, website, social media, and scholarship will continue to move forward and grow.
Just as importantly, this move will allow me to spend more time with my wife and our two daughters. As much as I love this work, those three are my biggest supporters, and having greater flexibility for my family is something I value tremendously.
For those wondering about game broadcasts, I fully expect you will still hear me calling games in the future. More details on that and several other projects will be announced soon.
I also want to congratulate Ashton Townsend, who will be taking over my role at WCDO. Ashton is a talented broadcaster and someone I have truly enjoyed working with. I know he will do a tremendous job, and I look forward to seeing him succeed in this role.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported me from the very beginning. Your encouragement, loyalty, and belief in what I do have made this journey possible, and I am truly grateful.
This is not an ending.
It’s the beginning of the next chapter.
