7-Cooperstown falls to 2-Port Byron 4-0 in the 3rd round of the S3 Class-C Softball Tournament on the road on Monday. PB pitcher Jenna Jump throws a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts to lead the Panthers to the victory. Coop closes the season at 11-3.
7-Cooperstown downs 10-Cincinnatus 4-2 in the 2nd round of the S3 Class-C Softball Tournament at home. Coop advances to face 2-seed Port Byron next. Grace Sperry stacks up 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 RBIs for the Hawkeyes. Katie Crippen smashes 2 doubles and scores 2 runs. Emmy Lippitt finishes with 7 strikeouts in the circle.
10-Sidney falls to 7-Lansing 20-19 in the 2nd round of the S4 Class-B Softball Tournament at the former Wells College. 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th helps LCS earn the victory. Lexi Mott paces the Sabers with 4 hits (2 doubles), 4 runs and 4 RBIs in the loss. Sam Constable adds 2 hits and 3 runs. Bella West and Trinity Lowe score 3 runs each.
8-Laurens/Milford clips 9-South Kortright/Andes 10-5 in the opening round of the S4 Class-D Softball Tournament at Oneonta HS. Brooke Mann earns the pitching win with 6 Ks. Bella Garlick scores 3 runs for L/M. Alyssa Stevens stacks up 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Mackenzie Briggs slaps 2 hits. Madysen Reeves, Lilly Temple and Carlee Dropp all blast 2 hits each for the Rams.
13-Unatego falls to 4-Moravia 8-7 in the opening round of the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament at MCS. The Spartans almost pull off the upset on the road. Avery James pitches a strong 6 innings for UCS. She also cracks 2 doubles at the plate and drives in 2 RBIs. Chloe Stilson adds 2 hits and 3 runs. Raelynn Parks chips in 1 hit, 1 run and 1 RBI.
5-Bainbridge-Guilford drops 12-Delhi 21-9 in the opening round of the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament at the All-Star Village in Oneonta. 14 runs in the 1st inning slams the door early for the Bobcats. Alessandra Cafasso rips in 8 Ks from the circle to earn the victory. She also explodes at the dish with 3 hits (1 double and 1 HR), 4 runs and 4 RBIs. Breanna Casey adds 3 hits and 3 runs. Kaylin Furgason chips in 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 RBIs. Victoria Suda scores 3 runs. Leah Dennis leads DA with 3 runs. Nice relief pitching appearance for Kinsley Tracy with 6 Ks.
10-Oxford falls to 7-Seton Catholic 4-3 in the opening round of the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament on the road. The Saints score 1 run in the bottom of the 7th to take it. Lily Marshman fires in 6 Ks for the Blackhawks. Reagan Long and Raya Warner collect 2 hits each. Jenna Denz smokes 1 double.
8-Harpursville clips 9-Greene 5-2 in the opening round of the S4 Class-C Softball Tournament on the new turf at HCS. 3 runs in the 5th seals it for the Hornets. Elizabeth Ives smacks 3 hits including 1 double for Harp. Gabby Piester adds 2 hits and Lainey Steinbrecher drives in 2 RBIs. Kenzie Button and Rachel Anderson nail 2 hits each for the Trojans.
Oneonta Softball clips Bainbridge-Guilford 4-3 to win the 2025 SFCU Tournament. The game was held at OHS but B-G was the host school and home team (they needed to use the turf today). The Jackets score 3 huge runs in the 7th to take it. MVP Jenevie Gallusser cracks a 2-RBI triple that lifts Oneonta. Alessandra Cafasso tosses in 6 Ks for B-G. Breanna Casey adds 1 hit and 1 RBI. Bainbridge-Guilford Softball clips Norwich 9-8 in a make-up 1st round game for the SFCU Tournament (rained out earlier in the season). The game was played in Bainbridge. Oneonta beat Sidney 6-3 last week in the other 1st round game. Oneonta will face B-G for the title this week. B-G vs Norwich stats: Breanna Casey and Alessandra Cafasso lead the Bobcats with 2 hits and 2 runs each. Danica Park scores 2 runs. Victoria Suda records 3 hits and 3 RBIs.
